Before and After Split Screen of Teeth Whitening

Introduction

Considering a brighter, whiter smile? You’re not alone. Teeth whitening is one of the most requested cosmetic dental treatments — and with so many options available, it can be hard to know which one is right for you.

At Family Dentistry at City Park, we’re here to help you understand the pros and cons of different whitening methods so you can make the best choice for your smile, lifestyle, and budget.

And if you’re ready for real results fast? Our in-office Philips Zoom!™ Whitening Treatment delivers dramatic whitening in just one visit — and it’s currently on special! (More details below.)

Teeth Whitening Options

1. In-Office Whitening with Philips Zoom!™

What we offer: Zoom!™ Blue LED light-accelerated whitening

Pros:

  • Fast, predictable, dramatic results — up to 8 shades whiter in one visit, really!

  • Significantly less sensitivity (the least sensitivity with any whitening on the market)

  • Performed under professional supervision

  • Predictable instant gratification! Great for big events like weddings and vacations

Cons:

  • Larger initial investment

  • No colored foods or drinks for 24 hours after procedure to avoid discoloration (known as “relapse”)

2. Custom Take-Home Trays from Your Dentist

What it is: custom-fitted trays with professional-grade gel

Pros:

  • Significantly less sensitivity than over-the-counter whitening

  • Stronger solution that is more effective than store-bought options

  • Designed to fit your teeth comfortably and evenly

Cons:

  • Requires an office visit for impressions

  • Results take several days to week

3. Over-the-Counter Whitening Products

Examples:  whitening strips

Pros:

  • Easy to purchase, easy to use

  • Inexpensive (typically under $50)

  • Gradual, subtle results

Cons:

  • Moderate to severe sensitivity

  • Less powerful than professional options

  • Can take weeks to see noticeable results

Is Teeth Whitening Right for You?

Whitening works best on natural teeth with surface staining caused by coffee, tea, red wine, or aging. It’s not effective on crowns, veneers, or bonding. During your consultation, we’ll help determine if you’re a good candidate and which method suits you best.

Whitening can be a great confidence boost — just be sure to choose a method that’s safe and backed by dental professionals. We’re happy to help guide you every step of the way. Contact us with any questions, or to make an appointment.

  • Clinically proven to whiten up to 8 shades in one visit
